Auto
Emergency Fund
RGC can assist an eligible individual whose automobile is used for employment
related activities with both repairs and fees, including licenses,
emissions, registration, and insurance.
An eligible client
can access this program for car repairs or fees for up to $600.00 per
eligible participant. Requests will be processed through the offices at the
Regional One-Stop Centers in Hamden, New Haven, Meriden and Middletown.
Quick
Response Service
In the New Haven and Hamden
One Stop
Center, a potential
employee, through his/her job developer or career counselor can take
specially arranged transportation to an interview at prospective job sites
within the next day of their One Stop consultation. Quick Response services
are arranged to take prospective employees to Career Fairs throughout the
South Central Connecticut Region.
Guaranteed
Ride
In the Greater New Haven region, a ride home is offered in the case of an
emergency, such as an ill worker or sick children to riders of the RGC
Shuttle. Guaranteed Ride benefits are available up to two times a year. In Torrington, 24-hour
service is available through a beeper system. The employer initiates the
call to arrange a GRH for the employee.

When transit is not available, RGC will subsidize Easy Street vanpools for
employment opportunities.
